The month ahead for the two of you

This reads a whole month of sky against the composite chart of two people. The composite is built from the midpoints of the two birth charts and stands for the relationship itself, so what this describes is happening to the pair rather than to either person on their own.

Cast the chart

A month is long enough to show the shape of something. A single day of transits catches whatever is passing; a month shows a slow planet coming into orb of the composite Sun, becoming exact on a date you can mark, and starting to separate — which is what people mean when they say a relationship went through something.

Keep the speeds apart while you read. Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto on a point of the composite describe a season the two of you are in, and a month is one slice of it. The Sun, Venus and Mars describe a week or a few days inside the month. A month that looks dramatic because the Moon crossed everything is a month that has been read wrong.

What is touched says what the month is about: the composite Sun for what the relationship is for, the Moon for how it feels day to day, Venus for affection and money, Mars for drive and friction. The composite houses are equal divisions from a midpoint Ascendant rather than the houses of a real sky, so read them more lightly than you would in a birth chart — and for house transits with real angles behind them, use a Davison chart instead.

Both birth times matter. Without them the composite planets are still reliable and the month's aspects stand, but the composite Moon may be out by a degree or two and the Ascendant and houses are unavailable — and here the Ascendant is what every house is measured from.

A month of transits describes what a relationship is being asked to deal with. It is not a prediction, and it is not a verdict on the relationship: two people who know what month they are in are better placed than two who are surprised by it.

Questions people ask

What is a monthly relationship forecast?

A month of transits to the composite chart of two people — the sky read against the relationship's own chart, with the dates each contact becomes exact.

How is it different from the daily relationship forecast?

Same chart, longer window. A day shows what is passing; a month shows a slow contact arriving, perfecting and moving on, which is the scale most relationship weather actually happens on.

Do we both need a known birth time?

For the aspects, no. For the composite houses and Ascendant, yes — and the composite needs the Ascendant more than a birth chart does, because all twelve of its houses are measured from it.

Should we read this or the Davison transits?

Both, knowing the difference. This transits the composite, which is the familiar reading; a Davison is a chart of a real moment over a real place, so its houses and angles are ones a transit genuinely crosses.
